Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is a religious holy journey thatโ€™s more of an adventure in tandem with nature at its Godly best. You get to visit some of the most naturally beautiful landscapes in the world. The Langtang Valley & Gosaikunda Lake Trek is one of Nepal's most rewarding Himalayan adventures, combining spectacular mountain scenery, ancient Buddhist heritage, pristine alpine landscapes, and the rich traditions of the Tamang people. This remarkable journey takes you through lush rhododendron and bamboo forests, picturesque mountain villages, yak pastures, glaciers, and sacred high-altitude lakes.

This is an exciting pilgrimage adventure in the gentle wilderness of Langtang region. The myth goes that lord shiva made this lake when he plunged his trishul [trident] into a mountain for water; to cool his burning throat when he mistakenly took poison. There is a large rock in the center of the lake, which is said to be the remains of a Shiva shrine. People often claim they see Shiva lying in the water. The Langtang Gosainkunda Lake trek witnesses pilgrims in huge numbers in August; when at midnight a bright moon appears causing devotees to perform a ritual by taking a dip in the sacred lake.

Gosainkunda Lake trek blends in well with the perfectly balanced ecosystems; and the flora and fauna, coupled with the breathtaking scenery and friendly welcoming communities we meet on the way to the holy lakes of Gosainkunda; makes this journey a truly memorable holiday. The hike also cuts across high passes with magnificent mountain landscapes in view. Itโ€™s a perfect holiday for those seeking adventure amidst the peaceful thoughts of God that we see in the beauty of nature. This trek will give you sublime peace and help you get rid of your demons. On our way back after our trek to Gosainkunda Lake; we pass Laurebinayak with outstanding mountain views and forests. We then retrace our steps to Sing Gompa and Dhunche to board our vehicle back to the comforts of our hotel in Kathmandu.

The adventure begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, the gateway to Langtang National Park. Following the beautiful Langtang River, the trail gradually ascends through peaceful forests and traditional settlements to the picturesque Langtang Valley and the sacred village of Kyangjin Gompa (3,870 m). A rewarding hike to Tserko Ri (5,000 m) offers breathtaking panoramic views of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), Dorje Lakpa, Gangchempo, Yala Peak, and numerous snow-capped Himalayan giants.
Leaving the Langtang Valley behind, the journey continues toward the revered Gosaikunda Lake (4,380 m), one of Nepal's most sacred alpine lakes, worshipped by both Hindus and Buddhists. According to Hindu mythology, Lord Shiva created this holy lake with his trident to quench his thirst after consuming poison. Every year during the Janai Purnima festival, thousands of pilgrims gather here for a sacred bath.

This trek offers an unforgettable combination of Himalayan wilderness, rich cultural experiences, spiritual heritage, and awe-inspiring mountain panoramas, making it one of Nepal's finest trekking adventures.
