Anyone with a passion for mountaineering but without a prior climbing experience can also achieve the summit of the peak.

Apart from the peak climbing, you can trek to the Everest base camp that is also a dream trip for many adventurers. Island Peak also known as Imja Tse is a widely popular trekking peak that takes you there for some of the most magnificent views on earth. The impressiveness of the peak in the region is unique to other surrounding peaks. It rises as a pyramid and looks like a floating island amidst other mountain peaks.

A wonderful combination of Everest base camp trekking and Island peak climbing creates an adventure to admire and cherish for life. It is the first day of trip and your arrival day in Kathmandu Nepal. When you land at the airport in Kathmandu and come out at the arrival lounge, our company representative will welcome you with a warm smile. Then, we will drive you to the trip hotel where you can spend relaxing time. We will have a meeting in the evening to talk about the trip in details.

After you take your breakfast, a beautiful day sightseeing tour of heritage monuments in Kathmandu valley is due today. Visit Swoyambhunath – the monkey temple; Patan Durbar Square – the medieval palace square; Pashupatinath – the open cremation ground for Hindus; and Boudhanath – the biggest Buddhist stupa.

The flight to Lukla goes either from Kathmandu or from Ramechhap. If you are flying from Kathmandu, grab your early morning breakfast and drive to airport to board the flight to Lukla to enter Everest region. After a half hour of incredible flight, you will land at Lukla. It’s also the first day of trekking in the Everest region. If you are flying to Lukla from Ramechhap, you need to drive 4-5 Hours from Kathmandu to board the flight and fly to Lukla. Start trekking towards Phakding along the Dudh Koshi River. Walk past Buddhist prayer walls called mani walls, prayer flags, prayer wheels and beautiful nature.

Enjoy your breakfast and start the trek to Namche bazar. Trek up towards Monjo along the Dudh Koshi river valley where you need to check into the Sagarmatha National Park counter to be able to walk further higher. Cross several suspension bridges and traverse the winding uphill trail to Namche bazar, the bustling Sherpa village in the region. Namche is also the most happening village in the Everest trail.

Stay overnight at Namche.

Once you take your breakfast and it’s time to get ready for an acclimatization hike that is necessary at this elevation to go even further higher towards the base camp. Hike up to the Everest view point to have the first ever glimpse of the highest mountain in the world. (You will have an option to hike to Thame, a beautiful Sherpa village, as well). Later return back to Namche Bazar to spend overnight.

Most of the section of the walk today is uphill towards Deboche. Start the walk for the day after breakfast and enjoy the adventure with mesmerizing views and serene surroundings. Map the trail mostly up and down in some parts to emerge finally into Tengboche. Once you reach Tengboche, you can go to explore the famous Tengboche monastery. Later on, you will trek to Deboche to stay overnight.

It’s another day of adventure walk towards a higher altitude. Start walking to Dingboche via villages of Diboche and Pangboche. You can enjoy some stunning views from along the way. Once you reach Pangboche, the trail divides into two parts – one that goes to Pheriche and the other that you take to go to Dingboche. A challenging uphill trail from Pangboche onwards takes you to Dingboche village to stay overnight.

The trek today takes you to Chhukung village near Island Peak Base Camp. Once you reach Chhukung, you will go for the climbing gear checking.

The walk to the base camp of Island Peak today takes you along the Lhotse glacial moraine. Although a short walk of about four hours today, you walk through such a diverse range of terrains with beautiful scenic views along the glacial moraine and river valley. After mapping the beautiful winding trail, you eventually reach the base of Island Peak at the elevation of 5,200 meters above sea level to spend the night there.

You will spend the day preparing for the climb the next day. You will have a detailed pre-climbing orientation once you reach the high camp. Getting ready mentally and physically for the climbing adventure is highly important so you will do the same spending time at the high camp

The day starts really early today soon after the midnight. The big day to climb Island peak which is also known as Imja Tse has come. You will set your feet on the path through sandy trail and proceed ahead on some grassy trail before you meet the trail filled with huge boulders. As you move higher ahead you feel the narrowing of the mountain trail before it turns completely into a snowy ridgeline that leads you to the summit glacier. You need to be roped up to walk along the glacier towards the summit. Eventually, after the strenuous effort and dodged will power, you reach the summit of the Island peak to be welcomed by impressive views of massive peaks. Later, descend all the way back down to base camp and trek to Chhukung to stay overnight.

This is an extra day to make up any possible and unpredictable delay on the adventure.

You will trek to Pangboche village via Dingboche. Walk past Imja Khola to cross it and reach Dingboche before heading towards the destination today. Once you reach Pangboche, you can wander around the village to explore the wonders there.

You will trek back to Namche Bazar today to stay overnight. Take the same trail via Tengboche to reach the destination. You can stop by Tengboche to enjoy scenic view and can go to Tengboche monastery again if you like. After a break at Tengboche, you will trek back down to Namche Bazar to stay overnight.

Enjoy the last day of trek today while trekking to Lukla. Exit the national park check point at Monjo and start trekking down towards Phakding village on the bank of Dudh Koshi River and walk further ahead to Lukla. Celebrate the joy of the end of this trekking and climbing adventure. Stay overnight at Lukla.

It’s time to say goodbye to the Everest region now. Take a flight back to Kathmandu after several days of peaceful and adventurous moments in the Everest region. Once in Kathmandu, you can spend leisurely time walking around the streets or engaging yourself in the activities of your choice available Kathmandu.
