Our short Annapurna base camp trek itinerary is of six days. When you sign up for this particular trip itinerary with us, the trip starts and ends in Pokhara. We will try to give a detailed day to day description of our short ABC trekking itinerary to the beautiful Annapurna base camp here. Let’s take a look at it.
Day 01: Pokhara to Chhomrong
The day one of the trip is in Pokhara where we come to meet you at your hotel to start the trip. After meeting at the hotel, we load your luggage in the vehicle and start the drive to the trek start point. It will take us about 2.5 hours through a scenic highway in the first part and through a dirt road later.
The trek for the day will be of about 3 hours and we start trekking along the dirt road in the beginning. Although we walk on the dirt road, the surrounding is beautiful and peaceful. After walking for about an hour we reach Syamrong to cross a long suspension bridge to reach Jhinu Danda for lunch.
Jhinu Danda is a beautiful place to stop for lunch for the day before continuing the trek to Chhomrong. We eat local food and prepare ourselves well for the rest of the trek of the day. It is a steep uphill trek to Chhomrong from Jhinu which takes about 2 hours.
We can enjoy majestic view of mountains, green surroundings, and beautiful village when we are in Chhomrong.
Day 02: Chhomrong to Dovan
The days starts with a fresh and beautiful morning in Chhomrong and if the weather is clear, the snow-capped mountains will make our morning even more beautiful. We get ready, pack our bags, and enjoy our first breakfast in the mountains. The trek for the day starts after breakfast and we are trekking to Dovan today.
As soon as we are ready to walk, we will find ourselves on a downhill walk through Chhomrong village. We walk a lot of stairs down the hill to the river to cross another suspension bridge to begin an uphill trek to Upper Sinuwa. The trek to Sinuwa is a challenging uphill walk but it is beautiful at the same time because of the view of its surroundings.
After reaching Upper Sinuwa, the trail gets better since there is not much up hill to walk for an hour. The trail is straight with some gradual inclines before it starts going down the hill to Bamboo on the river bank. We stop at Bamboo for lunch of the day before starting another uphill walk to Dovan for an hour and a half. The overnight camp for the day is at Dovan.
Day 03: Dovan to Deurali
The third day of the trek takes us to a beautiful camp at Deurali. We get ready for the trek of the day after breakfast at Dovan. The day begins with an up hill walk on a peaceful trail through forest to Himalaya. We will come across a beautiful waterfall along the trail before reaching Himalaya.
Since the lunch camp and overnight camp for the day is at the same place at Deurali, we take a brief break at Himalaya before heading further up. It is about three hours of walk today before reaching Deurali for lunch and overnight stay. Deurali offers a beautiful stay on the bank of glacial river that flows down the gorge from the Annapurna mountains.
Day 04: Deurali to Annapurna Base Camp
It is a big day today in terms of elevation gain and also because we reach the Annapurna Base Camp. We begin the day after breakfast at Deurali and head towards the destination today. After walking for about 3 hours, we reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp for lunch. The lunch camp provides a spectacular view of the Himalayas and majestic surroundings.
After enjoying a delicious lunch with the view, we begin the rest of the trek for the day to the Annapurna base camp. We are walking at the high altitude of the mountains and gaining elevation so we are going to be slow. It will take about two hours to reach to the Annapurna Base Camp on a gradual uphill looking trail along grassy pastures.
As the walk progresses towards the base camp, the magnificence of the Himalayas will unfold to overwhelm you with its beauty. The overnight camp at the base camp will provide a breathtaking view of the Himalayan surroundings.
Day 05: Annapurna Base Camp to Bamboo
After spending overnight at the beautiful Annapurna base camp, we begin to descend towards Pokhara from today. We take breakfast with a view at the base camp and begin the trek of the day.

We are on the final day of the trek today. The trek is going to be a bit challenging today since we need to walk up and down the mountain before reaching Syamrong to complete the trek.
